Sacred Spaces 6 x 6 inches, Oil Pastel on Masonite
I began this painting at home where I have a limited palette of oil pastels and no palette knives. I ended up cutting a credit card into pieces and used the edges to apply impasto layers of pastel. It was a little harder on my fingers but seemed to work pretty well. I finished it in the studio yesterday afternoon and find that I am really happy with contrasting colors and values. I combined some smaller shapes to make larger ones and continue to feel that the process and imagery is shifting and evolving in ways that please and interest me.
