Champ de lavande 6 x 6 inches, Oil Pastel on Linen
Several days ago I was asking a friend when lavender season in France. Of course, we have lavender fields here but....well France is French! Anyway, I asked because that lovely French lavender blue showed up in my palette. When I was working on this painting today, I remembered lavender fields and found myself putting them into the piece. So...my whimsical version of a field of lavender. Fun....and I didn't have to fly for hours or spend thousands of dollars. Imagination and memory is a wonderful thing!
